UFSC TORONTO 2012 KICK OFF MEETING THURSDAY, JANUARY 26, 2012, 6 PM START HOSTED BY KPMG

Our January meeting is always one of our most well-attended events and sets the tone for the year ahead. Come out and meet your 2012 Executive Board, committee chairs and fellow members.  Learn about UFSC Toronto, our pledge of “Awareness Inspired”  and our goals for the year ahead. 2012 is a big year for UFSC Toronto - in addition to our 2012 UFSC Toronto International Conference (taking place June 20-24, 2012)  this year marks a milestone for us, as we celebrate 15 years of Community Leadership by highlighting the professional growth of our members past and present and the commitment of our corporate partners.  
 
We’re looking forward to a tremendous turnout and to seeing a number of new faces on January 26th. Members – bring along your friends and colleagues and encourage them to join!
 
Please note: Space is limited at our venue – seats are available on a first-come, first-serve RSVP-only basis. Our host KPMG requires names of all guests for entry into the meeting. A 2012 Economic and Financial Forecast – with Craig Alexander, SVP and Chief Economist, TD Bank Group
 
Please join us as our guest speaker, Craig Alexander of TD Bank Group, provides his professional perspective on the economic and financial outlook for 2012.  There will also be an opportunity for a Q&A period at the end of the discussion.

About Craig Alexander

Craig Alexander is the Senior Vice President and Chief Economist for TD Bank Group. In that role, he manages a large team of economists that support all of the divisions and clients of TD – the second largest bank in Canada and the eighth largest bank in the United States. Craig has 15 years of experience in the private sector as an economic and financial forecaster. He is also a regular commentator on public policy. Prior to joining private sector, Craig spent four years as an economist at Statistics Canada. Each year, Craig travels across the United States and Canada speaking at more than a hundred events about economic and financial developments. He personally writes research on a wide array of subjects. He is frequently called upon by the media to provide perspective on pressing issues. In addition to his role at TD, Craig is a strong advocate for the cause of literacy and is a champion of the charitable sector. He also serves on the Board of Directors for several non-profit groups. Craig is a Trustee of two pension plans and is on the editorial board for the quarterly journal Canadian Public Policy. Craig is the former two-term President of the Canadian Association for Business Economics. He holds a graduate degree in economics from the University of Toronto.
